Dashbud -- Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Evolytix, Inc. (“Evolytix”, “we”, “our”, or “us”) is committed to protecting your privacy and your data. This Privacy Policy describes how Dashbud collects, uses, and safeguards information when you use our platform. It also explains what we do not do — most importantly, that Dashbud does not ingest or store any of your underlying data.

2. What We Collect

When you use Dashbud, we collect only the information necessary to provide and improve our services. This includes:

  • User Account Information: Name, email address, organization name, and authentication credentials.
  • Connection Metadata: Information about the type of database you connect (e.g., SQL Server, Snowflake), including the schema, table names, column names, and data types.
  • Usage Logs: Activity logs related to feature usage, error reporting, and system diagnostics (all anonymized or pseudonymized wherever possible).

3. What We Do Not Collect or Store

This is important:

Dashbud does NOT ingest or store your actual business data (i.e., the records, values, or contents in your database tables).

Our platform only accesses database structure and metadata, such as:

  • Table names
  • Column names
  • Column types
  • Relationships between tables (e.g., foreign keys)

This metadata allows Dashbud to intelligently construct SQL queries based on your natural language questions — without ever exposing the underlying data to our systems or any third-party AI models.

You maintain full control of your data. Dashbud acts as a query-generation layer on top of your existing data infrastructure.

4. How We Use the Information

We use the information we collect strictly to:

  • Authenticate users and provide access to the Dashbud platform
  • Generate AI-assisted queries using your schema metadata
  • Improve platform performance and reliability
  • Provide support and troubleshoot issues
  • Enforce our terms and protect against abuse

We do not use your information for advertising, resell it to third parties, or allow any third-party AI models (including LLMs) to access your schema or data.

5. Security and Data Access

We implement strong technical and organizational security measures, including:

  • Role-based access control
  • Encrypted connections (TLS/SSL) for all data in transit
  • Logging and monitoring of access activity

Only authorized personnel may access customer-specific metadata, and only for purposes directly related to support or diagnostics.

6. Third-Party Services

Dashbud does not share any customer schema or metadata with external third-party services unless explicitly authorized by you, the customer. No analytics, ad platforms, or AI APIs process your data behind the scenes.

6a. Third-Party Integrations

Google Sheets & Google Drive

Dashbud allows you to connect your Google account to import spreadsheet data as a data source. When you connect, Dashbud requests read-only access to your Google Sheets and Google Drive through Google's OAuth 2.0 authorization flow.

What we access:

  • A list of your Google Sheets spreadsheet names, owners, and modification dates (to display the spreadsheet picker)
  • The contents of spreadsheets you explicitly select for import

What we store:

  • An encrypted OAuth refresh token, used to re-access your selected spreadsheets for data updates. This token is encrypted at rest and never exposed to other users or third parties.
  • A copy of the spreadsheet data you import, materialized into your Dashbud workspace for querying

What we do not do:

  • We do not access spreadsheets you have not selected
  • We do not modify, write to, or delete any Google Sheets or Drive files
  • We do not share your Google data with third parties
  • We do not use your Google data for advertising or profiling

Revoking access:

You can disconnect your Google account at any time by removing the data source from your Dashbud workspace. You can also revoke Dashbud's access directly from your Google Account Permissions.

7. Data Retention

We retain user account data only for as long as your account remains active.

Schema metadata is retained temporarily to allow query generation but is never stored permanently unless you choose to save a dashboard or report.

You may request deletion of your account or any retained metadata at any time by contacting us.

8. Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Request access to your user profile data
  • Request correction or deletion of your account information
  • Withdraw consent for optional data processing (e.g., usage analytics)
  • File a complaint with a regulatory authority, if applicable in your jurisdiction

9. Children’s Privacy

Dashbud is not intended for use by individuals under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last Updated" date. Material changes will be communicated via email or dashboard notification.
